Street Noise Productions
We took a trip to Street Noise Productions and spoke with Travis Street, Dwnkill, and The Halfpipes. Questioning them about their beginnings, their process, and general concepts of their music so everyone new and old to them can get something out. @streetnoiseproductions
Did this lead you to the Houston music scene, indie, hardcore, metal?
No, I went around to open mics pretty often when I first started down the studio path, a bustling jazz scene, old players. People not doing it to get anything, just for the love of playing.
I’ve seen that here and there but never questioned it’s depth.
Eventually, the pandemic came and went and now so many people were coming out with that punk angst and confusion.
I wanted to be apart of that, but I wasn’t super into the hardcore scene, wanting to outlaw or jazz, but really anything.
Now you’re supporting two well known groups, what’s next for the studio then?
We are gearing up for wider distribution, taking these guys further out. We have a website in the works for it, streetnoiseproduction.com.
I’m also in the process of finding a new band to cover, rounded with three. Something different.

Loose Screws Collective
We also took a trip to see the brilliance of Loose Screw, a performative paper mache collective, bringing Mexican culture inspired themes to their work and bring a new style of large puppeteering performance as well as workshops for everyone to participate in the creation of art. @loosescrewshtx
Paper mache is a unique art form, how did you come to doing this?
I was first introduced by my grandma, she made pinatas. I then did sculptures in high school and started to feel like I wanted to do more. Something like puppets, but not like puppets. Something large scale, I was inspired by the parades in Mexico, an Alebrije.
Now that you say it, I see it, brilliant. Is it just you, or are there others in your collective?
Right now it’s just me, but it is open for people to join, we can start doing more large scale concepts, experiment with new things.
